British Ladies Unexpected Stars of World Championships

The British ladies team were the unexpected stars of the recent 2017 ISA World Team Championships in St Cloud, Orlando, Florida.  This was the first time the UK had entered teams in both the mens and ladies sections so it was bound to be a steep learning curve. It proved very tough for the men but the women finished an amazing joint second after two round robin sections, beating the eventual American champions along the way. They were finally placed third after a sudden death play-off.

International Shuffleboard Championships

The International Shuffleboard Association championships took place in St Petersburg Florida at the end of October. The event was hugely successful and incorporated presentation evenings for new members to the Shuffleboard Hall Of Fame and new recipients of Lifetime Achievement awards. The men’s champion this year was Ken Offenther and the winning lady was Canadian Glenna Earle who narrowly defeated Briton Pam Lowe in the final.
